The Heythrop Hunt has apologized again after their hounds strayed into Bourton-on-the-Water, causing concern among residents and local authorities.
The Heythrop Hunt said their hounds went off the trail. This is the second time this has happened recently. The hunt’s chairman apologized to the local council after a similar incident in October.
In a letter, they promised to keep future events away from homes. However, residents still saw loose hounds in the area. The police are looking into it but haven’t found any offenses yet.
John Petrie from the League Against Cruel Sports expressed concern. He said the hunt claims to follow trails but keeps ending up where they shouldn’t be. He believes stronger laws are needed to prevent this.
A spokesperson for the Heythrop Hunt said the hounds were quickly returned to safety. They apologized for any trouble caused.
Police confirmed they received reports about the loose hounds and are still investigating.
