Gloucester-Hartpury narrowly defeated Trailfinders in a nail-biting match, showcasing thrilling moments and impressive performances from both teams
At first, it looked like they had it in the bag. Natasha Hunt scored a try after a charge down, and Mackenzie Carson added another. They were up 14-0, and Lleucu George converted both tries.
But Trailfinders weren’t done yet. Tori Wood and Tyson Beukeboom scored, bringing the score to 14-12. Hunt then got her second try, making it 21-12 at halftime.
Things got tense when Pip Hendy had a try ruled out for an infringement. Trailfinders kept pushing, and Wood scored again, making it 21-17. They even took the lead briefly with Alivia Leatherman’s converted try.
Neve Jones put Gloucester-Hartpury back in front at 26-24. Then, Metcalfe scored in the corner, extending the lead to 33-24.
Just when it seemed over, Elizabeth Musgrove scored for Trailfinders, closing the gap to 33-31. Gloucester-Hartpury tried to hold on, but Trailfinders nearly snatched a win.
In the end, they knocked the ball on right before the try line, sealing the game for Gloucester-Hartpury.
