The government supports improvements. They will upgrade Dawsons Corner and Stanningley Bypass.

The Department for Transport said trips will be quicker. These upgrades connect Leeds and Bradford. They plan to replace the roundabout, and they will also fix the bypass structure.

More people might use buses thanks to this. Traffic should move faster for everyone. The bypass is fifty years old now and has safety problems and defects, but these improvements will increase safety.

Lilian Greenwood spoke about slow A647 speeds, saying this discourages bus usage. She approved this essential plan. The government gives £35m to this project. Yorkshire journeys will improve, and the economy will get a boost, too.

Upgrades are for Dawsons Corner in Pudsey. Stanningley Bypass upgrades are planned as well. It’s located between Dawsons Corner and Bramley.

The DfT plans to spend £1.6 billion on roads. They will fix seven million potholes. The West Yorkshire authority gets £14.8 billion of that sum.

Business leaders welcome improved connectivity. Journey times are a key concern for them, and they praise the government’s action.

This investment boosts business confidence and should improve productivity, too. Leeds and Bradford depend on each other, and these upgrades are helping both cities.

The upgrades cost £42.679 million in total. The Department for Transport pays 84%, which equals £35.709 million. The West Yorkshire authority provides the rest.

Councilor Jonathan Pryor is very happy. He said the £35.709 million funding is great. He believes Dawsons Corner needs improvements and wants better traffic and improved air quality. These upgrades will support future housing, so people can access jobs more easily.

He mentions other recent road improvements. Fink Hill, Dyneley Arms, and Armley Gyratory got help. Also upgraded were the A6120 routes. The M621 work remains vital, and it assists directing traffic away from Leeds.
