Immingham: Caring students at Oasis Academy Immingham are helping the homeless. They organized fun fundraising events to support those in need.
The students held a Christmas fair to raise money for Harbour Place, a local charity. They set up games like “Pin the Nose on the Reindeer” and a bake sale.
Thanks to their efforts, they raised £560. This money will help Harbour Place support homeless individuals in North East Lincolnshire.
Harbour Place also runs a night shelter and outreach team. They provide essential help for people seeking safe housing.
Along with fundraising, the academy collected warm clothes for those in need this winter. This will make a big difference for many.
James Clayton and Jessica Burnette from Harbour Place visited the school to thank the students. They previously taught the student leaders about homelessness.
Principal Sara McCloughlin expressed pride in the students’ efforts. She highlighted their generosity and compassion for the community.
Operations manager Hannah Bown praised the teamwork shown during the fundraiser. She noted how the students made a positive impact.
