Gloucestershire: A group of youths caused quite a stir on the M5. They threw stones from a bridge, damaging several cars. This happened near junction 12 on a Monday night.

The trouble started around 8:25 PM. A couple of kids in dark clothes were spotted tossing stones onto the northbound lanes. By the time police arrived, they had already vanished. But they came back just before 10 PM to throw more stones.

Police quickly got to work. They used drones and a dog unit to track down the culprits. Eventually, they caught two 15-year-old boys near the Hunts Grove estate. They were arrested for criminal damage but have since been released on bail.

Luckily, no one was hurt, but two cars did get their windscreens smashed. The drivers were understandably shaken by the whole ordeal.

Gloucestershire Police are urging locals to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity. They want residents to check their doorbell cameras and report any damage or sightings of the group.

PC Andy Lawton emphasized how reckless this behavior is. He noted that throwing stones at speeding cars could lead to serious accidents. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured this time.

If you have any information, you can reach out to the police by calling 101 or filling out an online form. They’re keen to find out who’s responsible for this dangerous act.
