The Fiddington Fields project in Tewkesbury will add 304 new homes, including affordable options, with plans for eco-friendly features and community benefits.
Tewkesbury: The builder for Fiddington Fields is ready to start the next phase. Persimmon Homes Severn Valley will build 304 new homes in Ashchurch, near the M5. This includes 105 homes for a local housing association to help with waiting lists.
These new homes will have solar panels and electric vehicle charging points. There will also be five play areas, a main road, bus stops, and paths for pedestrians and cyclists.
Retained trees and hedgerows will line the southern and eastern edges. An ecological corridor will support local wildlife, with bird and bat boxes added to existing trees.
The developer is investing over £700,000 for local libraries and bus services. They will also contribute more than £3.4 million for early years and primary education.
Three and four-bedroom homes are already available from £299,000. The second phase is being developed by Charles Church, with four-bedroom homes starting at £460,000.
Claire Burton, managing director of Persimmon Homes Severn Valley, expressed excitement about the project. She noted the importance of these homes for local residents and the community.
Burton highlighted the additional benefits, like biodiversity improvements and financial support for local services. She thanked Tewkesbury Borough Council for their collaboration on this project.
