Cheltenham: A busy road is closed for repairs. The A435 Evesham Road is affected due to a landslip. This closure is causing a big detour for drivers.

Starting tonight, the road will shut down from 8 PM to 6 AM. They’re resurfacing the road and fixing the landslip. If the weather is bad, it might continue tomorrow.

From Tuesday to Friday, more work will happen on the same road. They’ll remove old road markings and put in new ones. Plus, they’re building a cycleway along the east side.

Drivers will need to take a signed detour. This route is about 20 miles long and takes around 43 minutes. It goes through Cheltenham, Coombe Hill, Tewkesbury, and Tredington.

These changes are part of a bigger plan to improve cycling routes in the area. You’ll see new green cycleways popping up between Gloucester and Cheltenham.

So, if you’re out and about, plan for extra travel time. Stay safe and keep an eye on the road signs!
