Storm Eowyn is set to bring strong winds and heavy rain to the UK, with warnings in place for several regions. Stay safe and prepared!
Gloucestershire: The Met Office is warning us about some wild weather coming our way. Strong winds are expected on Friday, and they’re not kidding. Storm Eowyn is on the horizon, and it’s going to shake things up.
This change is all thanks to a blast of cold air from North America. It’s causing a big temperature difference, which is ramping up the jet stream. This means we’ll see some serious low-pressure systems heading straight for the UK.
On Friday, Gloucestershire could see wind gusts hitting 58mph. And don’t forget the heavy rain that’s likely to accompany it. The weather warning is in effect for 24 hours, so keep an eye out.
Mike Silverstone, a deputy chief meteorologist, mentioned that Storm Eowyn could bring disruptive weather. Northern Ireland, northern England, and parts of Wales and Scotland might feel the strongest gusts, possibly over 80mph. That’s no joke!
Winds will pick up in the southwest first, then spread northeast. There’s even a chance of snow in some areas, but it’ll likely turn to rain as milder air moves in. Higher ground in Scotland might see some snow, though.
So, if you’re in Gloucestershire or nearby, be prepared for a wild ride this weekend. Stay safe out there!
