After dealing with Storms Eowyn and Herminia, another weather system is on the way. This one is bringing cold air from the Arctic, leading to more snow and freezing temperatures.
Central Scotland might see the coldest temperatures, while eastern England and Wales could hit -6C. Even the south coast, usually warmer, is expected to be around 0C.
Weather maps show significant snowfall across the UK, especially in central Scotland. By February 13, western Scotland could see up to 46 centimeters of snow.
The Met Office has shared a forecast for February 13-27. It suggests colder weather may hit the north and northwest, while the south could be drier.
Some rain is expected in the south, but overall temperatures should stay near average. The south may also experience frost and fog overnight.
Before this cold snap, the UK will enjoy a few pleasant days. Today, most areas will be dry with some sunshine and gentle winds.
From Friday to Sunday, expect rain in the southeast, but central and southeast England should remain mostly fine. Gloucestershire will see highs of 8C today.
The weekend looks overcast but dry, with temperatures ranging from 4C to 8C. Next week, it will stay dry with highs of 9C and lows dropping to -1C.
For the Met Office South West forecast, today will be mostly dry with some sunshine. Tonight, expect rain and possible hill snow.
Friday will be cloudy with rain easing. The weekend will be mostly dry, but wet and windy weather is expected in the northwest.
