The worst of it will hit between midnight and 7 AM. Expect gusts up to 57 mph in Gloucester and nearby towns. Rain will ease up before rush hour, but the winds will stick around all day.
This storm is no joke. It’s the fifth named storm this season, and it could be dangerous. The Met Office says we should be careful out there.
What’s causing all this? A powerful jet stream is pushing low pressure our way from the Atlantic. It’s been cold in North America, and now we’re feeling the effects.
The south coast and parts of Wales are under a yellow weather warning. Coastal areas might see some big waves and spray. But Friday is when things really ramp up.
Gusts could reach 90 mph along the coast, while inland areas might see 60 to 70 mph. The Met Office advises securing loose items outside. Flying debris could be a real hazard.

Storm Eowyn will move across Northern Ireland early Friday and then head northeast into Scotland. Motorists in the North West and Yorkshire should prepare for delays.
There’s even a chance of tornados in the West Country. Chris Wood from the AA suggests only traveling if necessary. Stick to main roads to avoid fallen branches.
Rail services in the north are also affected. LNER has warned of cancellations and delays. A yellow rain warning is in place for Wales and the southwest, with possible flooding.
