A new factory in Grimsby will create almost 400 jobs, focusing on carbon fibre production. The project aims to revitalize a brownfield site and boost the local economy.
Grimsby: A new factory is coming to the area, and it’s exciting news! This factory could create nearly 400 jobs once it’s fully up and running.
The factory will focus on carbon fibre manufacturing. It will be located at Humber Gate off Energy Park Way. LeMond Carbon UK Ltd, linked to Tour de France winner Greg Le Mond, is behind this project.
The facility will include a large manufacturing line and offices. It will also have a utilities and cooling compound. The site will feature yellow elements to honor Le Mond’s Tour de France victories.
By 2030, the factory is expected to employ 384 people. The site is currently brownfield land, previously used for storing granite boulders for a sea wall project.
North East Lincolnshire Council has supported this development from the start. They believe it will bring carbon fibre production back to the area and create quality jobs.
Council leader Cllr Philip Jackson highlighted the investment’s importance. He noted it would provide well-paid jobs and support the local economy.
