David Withey is set to lead SGS College, bringing a wealth of experience and a fresh vision for the future of education in the community
South Gloucestershire: Big news for the college! David Withey has been named the new CEO and principal of South Gloucestershire and Stroud College. He’ll start in March 2025.
David comes from the Education and Skills Funding Agency, where he was the CEO. He’s got a solid background in education, having worked in both the UK and Australia.
Matt Atkinson, the chair of the SGS corporation, is really excited about David joining. He believes David’s leadership skills and values align perfectly with what SGS stands for.
David himself is looking forward to the role. He’s met some amazing students and staff already and can’t wait to connect with more people. He’s eager to work with local leaders to ensure the community has the skills it needs to thrive.
He’ll be taking over from Kevin Hamblin, who has been at the helm since 2001. It’s a big change, but it sounds like David is ready to make a positive impact!
