Scunthorpe: Plans are underway for 1,200 new homes as part of the Lincolnshire Lakes project. This project aims to build 6,000 homes in several waterside villages.

The project has been in the works for decades but faced delays. These delays were due to waiting for infrastructure improvements, like flood defenses and a new bypass.

Recently, a pre-application for the 1,200 homes was completed. This area is near Scotter Road South and South Park Road in Bottesford.

Gleeson Homes is working on the environmental impact assessment for this development. The project will include homes, a local center, a school, and public spaces.

However, it might take a while before construction starts. There are three other planning applications for homes in the Lincolnshire Lakes area that are still pending.

These applications include 599 homes near the M181 and two smaller developments. Concerns about wildlife and financial assessments are causing delays in the planning process.

Keepmoat Homes is behind the 593 homes proposal, while Gleeson Regeneration Ltd is handling the smaller projects.
