Gloucester: So, Adam Hastings, the rugby player, just got hit with a driving ban. He was caught using his phone while driving on the A40 Golden Valley Bypass. Not a great move, right?

He was also speeding in London. The court said he was going 37 in a 30 zone. Oops! Hastings, who’s 28 and has played for Scotland, got a six-month ban and a fine of £618.

The police spotted him on February 20 last year. They saw him weaving a bit and holding his phone. Not the best look for a pro athlete. He didn’t show up in court but admitted to both charges.

His lawyer argued he only used the phone for about five seconds. But the judge wasn’t having it. Hastings already had six points on his license from earlier speeding tickets.

The judge said he had to surrender his license. Hastings is part of a famous rugby family, following in his dad’s and uncle’s footsteps. Hopefully, he learned his lesson and keeps his eyes on the road next time!
