Cynthia Goode, a beloved nurse, passed away at 84, leaving a legacy of kindness and care for her patients and family.
Cindy was known as a “living legend.” Her son Mark shared how much she meant to everyone. She was a strong, no-nonsense lady who treated everyone equally.
Starting her nursing journey in the late 1950s, she worked night shifts for decades. She trained many junior staff, teaching them kindness and care.
Cindy also volunteered on Scunthorpe’s first HIV and AIDS ward in the 1980s. Her compassion and dedication were unmatched.
Mark fondly recalled how his parents met. Cindy fell off her bike, and Bill came to her rescue. They were devoted to each other, just like Jack and Vera Duckworth from TV.
Cindy’s wisdom was simple yet profound. She believed in treating others as you want to be treated. Her humor shone through in her sayings, too.
She was a true character, loved by many. Her funeral will be held on January 28 at Woodlands Crematorium. Flowers and donations can be sent in her memory.
